You are 55 years old. You have lived in the same apartment for 35 years and you are offered an opportunity to grow professionally. You see opportunity knocks once. Well after 35 years living in sunny Florida in the same condominium; I relocated to Chicago. For me change is not easy. In fact, I find it difficult. I packed lock, stock and barrel and had 35 years of life shipped to where I had not clue. I left Florida on a Wednesday and started my new job on Thursday and was staying in Hoffman Estates in the Hampton Suites. Not having friends or family here by Saturday I was lying in bed in the fetal position. A colleague called and asked what I was doing and I explain, "I am so depressed I cannot cope". She said get dressed I am on my way over to pick you up. We had lunch at the Lucky Monk and then she said, "where do you want to look for an apartment"? We got in the car and off we went to Arlington Heights. After scouring the neighborhood looking at apartments she called her friends who happen to live in Arlington Heights forever; met us at Salsa 17a great Mexican bistro. After cocktails and talk we walked up and down the streets and then my life changed. "Hey there is a realtor, let's walk in". There I met Karen Majerczak. We sat for a few minutes and I told her, Adam, and Dina what I am looking for. Karen said, "be here next Saturday and I promise I will find you something and you will be happy". The following week there I am at Meritage Realty Group and Karen came through. She took me first to a lovely apartment in a high rise building with a door man and the rent was very reasonable. However, some of the rooms would not be able to fit my furniture from Florida. Then we went to the outskirts of the city to the next town and found a beautiful condominium. Everything would work in regards to my furniture. The rooms were lovely and development was beautiful and located across from the train station. Afterwards, when we got in her car she did state, "that everytime you want to do something you will have to get in your car. The winter's here are not the same as in Florida. You are single and do not have friends or family here. It will be difficult to meet people living in a development. Let's look at one more place". And here I am typing this testimonal for Karen Majerczak at my granite desk in the kitchen of my beautiful apartment in downtown Arlington Heights. I can walk to everything; restaurants, local gourmet markets, movie theatre, live theatre, coffee houses, local 'mom and pop' shops. From lying in the fetal position to where I am today mentally is all because of Karen.

She is the type of agent who puts clients' interest above her own interest, unlike other brokers.  She will tell me when a house is overpriced or she sees a problem with it, rather than trying to get a deal. All I can say is thank goodness for Dina. We had some unusual problems when trying to purchase a home and Dina was on top of everything. She was willing to get in there and fight for us when the seller become unreasonable. She's extremely knowledgeable and has great attorneys and home inspector recommendations.

I am still in the process of finding a home and I am so comfortable with Dina. My daughter recommended her because she was so great to work with. So far, she has been fabulous...not pushy, great customer service-even while she was on vacation she still made sure I had the most current listings!
